Turning the Page and Changing the Numbers

It's coming up on two years since our world came to a crashing halt. In fits and starts, it seem to be slowly coming back from this pandemic but we're not back to normal yet. Will we ever be? That's still to be seen.

Here at the Musick Channel, we've been vaccinated (and might have possibly had the virus way back at the beginning) and boosted. We no longer feel anxious about being out and about but we do have reservations in regards to the way things have changed.

Having never been a fan of cruises, it's not a hard thing to avoid them. Flying, even with our more open borders, is such a mess. It was already quite an ordeal before this happened and, now, the entire industry just can't seem to get it together to be confident that they'll get to where you want to go.

I've long been of the opinion that the massive amounts of money that traveling costs could better be used for something else if it is not going to be enjoyable. Not to mention that everything costs more now...inflation has reared its ugly head again.

We here at the Musick Channel...and The World on Wheels...will still be going out in the world but, for now, it will not be taking advantage of flying until there seems to be more of a sense of normality about it. If we can't get there by car...or maybe train...we won't be going for now.

That means this year's travels will be more domestic and taking advantage of the area close to home. In other words, more road trips, overnighters, and day trips instead of big adventures requiring the use of a plane (you'll be seeing quite a focus on Northern California and the surrounding area).

As our second pandemic year comes to a close and a new year is stretching out before us, we wish you a happy new year, may this be the last that we have to deal with this deadly and dreadful virus, and let you know we are working on some more new content for you.

In the meantime, we're going to be taking a little hiatus to rest and recharge our batteries but we'll be back before you know it.

  1. Local travels are great, a few of us are trying to put together a wine tour. Since I know you are frequently touching on this I for one look forward to seeing what you encounter.
